UBC’s Patient & Physician Services Creative Services Department Recognized for Excellence in Advertising and Marketing

UBC was pleased to receive numerous Healthcare Marketing Report’s36th Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards for their exemplary work.

The Healthcare Advertising Awards is the oldest, largest, and most highly regarded healthcare advertising awards competition. The awards are sponsored by Healthcare Marketing Report, the leading publication covering all aspects of healthcare marketing, advertising, and strategic business development.

This year over 4,000 submissions were received, which makes it the largest healthcare advertising competition and one of the 10 largest advertising competitions overall. A national panel of judges reviewed all entries based on creativity, quality, message effectiveness, consumer appeal, graphic design, and overall impact.

Some noteworthy competitors included Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Mayo Clinic, AvMed, Children’s Hospital, Duke University, INOVA, and Ronald McDonald House.

UBC was recognized for the following standout work:

GOLD – Novartis EVALUATE-HF Enrollment Challenge Email Campaign

GOLD – UBC Animated Holiday Video

SILVER – UBC Video Services Marketing Video

MERIT – Pfizer Link Introduction Video

In addition to the Healthcare Advertising Awards, UBC also received multiple 2019 Aster Awards.

The Aster Awards, one of the largest, most respected national competitions of its kind, is hosted by Marketing Healthcare Today Magazine and Creative Images, Inc. This elite program has recognized outstanding healthcare professionals for excellence in their advertising/marketing efforts for over 18 years.

All entries are reviewed by a panel of industry experts and are scored on multiple criteria with a possibility of 100 percent. Participants’ entries compete against similar-sized organizations in their specific groups and categories. Some of the criteria used to score entries included creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality, and overall appeal. Only the top 5% of entries were recognized with GOLD awards.

“The quality and creativity of the entries submitted seems to increase each year. The 2019 Aster Awards program brought together some of the best and most creative advertising in the world,” said Melinda Lucas, Aster Awards Program Coordinator.

UBC received awards for the following work:

GOLD – Novartis EVALUATE-HF Enrollment Challenge Email Campaign

GOLD – UBC Video Services Marketing Video

SILVER – Mallinckrodt STAR Registry Video

Some noteworthy competitors included Anthem, John Hopkins, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, CareFirst, Cumberland Pharmaceuticals, Advent Health, Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Signature Healthcare, MedStar, United Healthcare, and Abbott.

According to Barton Kelecava, Director of PPS Creative Services, “As a patients first support services organization, we are continuously exploring various marketing channels to increase patient engagement.”

All Healthcare Advertising Award winners are currently posted on the Aster Awards website (www.AsterAwards.com), as well as published in Marketing Healthcare Today, a national healthcare marketing magazine.
